Assistant Manager, Finance & Operations

About the role

As the Assistant Finance Manager with HR capabilities, you will play a pivotal role in both our Finance and HR departments. This position offers a unique blend of financial management and human resources tasks, geared towards establishing efficient processes and fostering a robust company culture. Your role is critical in collaborating with outsourced accounting partners to ensure accuracy and timeliness of our monthly and quarterly closing accounts, managing invoicing, accounts receivables, and overseeing payment and expense management functions.

Your responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial accounting and bookkeeping process, ensuring timely completion of monthly and quarterly closing accounts.
  • Oversee cash flow and budget planning
  • Maintain and optimize invoicing, accounts receivable, vendor payments, and expense reimbursement processes.
  • Continuously improve financial workflows and procedures, leveraging technology for increased efficiency and automation.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external partners such as accountants, auditors, tax consultants, and corporate secretarial agents.
  • Ensure adherence to the company’s policies regarding employee expense claims.
  • Assist in processing and executing operating expenses and claims.
  • Work closely with internal teams on projects, aiding in procedural, policy, and system changes to support business scaling and expansion.
  • Manage and monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, providing regular tracking and reports.
  • Manage HR-related matters such as employee life-cycle, employee benefits, performance reviews, claims.
  • Execute general office management duties to maintain an efficient workspace.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance or equivalent standard and relevant accounting qualification.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the finance industry, preferably also with HR-related experience
  • Deadline oriented & self-motivated
  • Excels in a fast-paced, high growth and rapidly changing technology-driven environment
  • Good organizational skills
  • Flexible attitude & Able to work with multiple tasks at a time
  • Experience with Xero accounting system and Google Sheets preferred
