Viddsee is embarking on an exciting new phase by expanding into long-form scripted content and micro-dramas.
Singapore, October 22, 2024 –
Viddsee, a leading digital video platform renowned for its innovative short-form content, is excited to announce its strategic expansion into long-form scripted projects and micro dramas. This move marks a significant milestone in Viddsee’s evolution, highlighting its plans to extend its reach beyond Southeast Asia and onto the global stage.
As we embark on this new chapter, we're thrilled to bring our first slate of long-form projects and micro dramas to life. Our goal is to create compelling stories that resonate across cultures and continents, leveraging our unique strengths in content creation and storytelling.

Leading the charge is “Ivy Boys”, an action detective series set against the backdrop of WWII-era Korea, adapted from the creative Web3 concepts of BBRC Studios, featuring a group of fashionable tailors who secretly work as detectives. The project is currently in co-development with CJ ENM Hong Kong, the regional office of South Korea’s leading entertainment company CJ ENM.
We're excited to collaborate on 'Ivy Boys' and bring together our legacy of creating impactful storytelling with a fresh and innovative narrative approach.
Michael Jung, Managing Director, CJ ENM HK
Esteemed director Paek Seung Hwan guides the creative vision for “Ivy Boys.” Paek’s illustrious career in the Korean film industry includes key roles in projects like Inside Men and KUNDO: Age of the Rampant. He founded Vag.grimm and recently directed mystery-thriller Only God Knows Everything, which won several awards in various festivals and is scheduled for release next summer. Paek’s unique artistic perspective and filmmaking mastery promise to captivate audiences with a stylish and historically intriguing series.
Another key project, “Fallen Butterflies” (working title), is inspired by the book published by Penguin, “A Long Road To Justice” by Sylvia Yu Friedman. This eight-episode drama series explores the harrowing world of the sex trafficking trade through a Korean/American lens, with themes of resilience and hope amid dire circumstances. This series benefits from the expertise of several prominent figures in the global film industry. Lillian Victoria Ng, a Chinese American producer, brings her unique bicultural perspective and global mindset to the project. The script is being crafted by award-winning writer Galen Tong, whose impressive resume includes writing for the TV series Walker, Texas Ranger and winning prestigious awards such as the 2013 Beijing International Screenwriting Competition. Adding depth to the narrative, script consultants Gina Gold and Aurorae Khoo bring their extensive experience as Co-Executive Producers on the top-rated CBS show NCIS, enriching the series with their expertise in developing impactful scripts.
Also in the lineup is “Siti Vampire” (Siti Sang Vampir!), an innovative Indonesian feature film adapted from a successful local five-episode comedy series with the same name in Singapore. This film offers a unique twist on the vampire genre by introducing a young female Muslim vampire. The project features renowned Indonesian screenwriter Titien Wattimena, whose illustrious career includes writing for acclaimed films such as Aruna dan Lidahnya, which earned the Piala Citra for Best Adapted Screenplay and the multiple award-winning, Dilan 1990, that topped the Indonesian Box Office in 2018. Story and script development is currently underway with Katatinut, a creative agency recognized for its impactful storytelling. The company has collaborated with various producers and platforms, becoming a prominent name in the Indonesian creative scene for producing content with box office success.
Beyond these projects, Viddsee is producing its first slate of micro drama Originals, with productions underway in Thailand, Singapore, and Taipei. This slate underscores Viddsee’s commitment to innovation in short-form storytelling, offering engaging content that explores the complexities of human relationships. The productions include fantasy comedies and nuanced romances designed to evoke emotion and provide a refreshing perspective on human connections. Riding on the micro drama trend, this slate underscores Viddsee’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in short-form storytelling. The first micro drama in this slate, “My Magic Tablet”, is set to premiere in November this year.
Our expansion into both long-form and micro drama content not only highlights our commitment to innovation but also invites potential investors to explore opportunities within the rapidly growing digital video and streaming space.
